  1. Britain and the British people in 2010 Paul Mayo FAPAI (Fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers) a talk by Paul Mayo Slides from a public talk given at The Beacon Centre, Malvern, UK Nov 25 th 2009
  2. What is astrology?
    • Astrology is a form of divination, using the planets as variables.
    • Using time, date and place of an event (such as a birth) an astrologer draws up a chart of the sky around that place.
    • According to which sector of the chart each planet falls in, the character and ‘destiny’ of that event is foretold.
    • Until the 1980’s astrologers had to work out charts by hand using tables and maths. Since then, most have used computers for the complicated calculations.
    • Most astrologers are female.
    • Nothing in astrology over-rides human freewill !
  3. Paul Mayo – some past predictions Paul Mayo has been making intuitive predictions since 1969 and astrological predictions since 1982. The vast majority of these have been for the benefit of individuals, but some have been of national or global relevance. The latter include:
    • 1969: The UK pensions system will be badly damaged (perhaps ruined) by 2014
    • 1969: The way of the future will be to grow food without chemical poisons.
    • 1969: London will be totally swamped by a 200ft tidal wave within my lifetime.
    • 1970: The global banking system will seriously collapse within my lifetime.
    • 1970: Deodorants will cause serious health problems in future – don’t use them.
    • 1975: Overuse of antibiotics will seriously damage western world’s health.
    • 1979: Global changes coming by 2014 that involve a terrifying wall of cloud.
    • 1980: Scientists will discover that ‘low fat’ products are harmful to long-term health.
    • 1982: A new killer plague will scour the human race and claim one billion lives (Aids).
    • 1984: Kidnapping & eventual return ‘in surprisingly good shape’ of Terry Waite.
    • 1985: Prime Minister Mrs Thatcher will be thrown out of office ‘in Nov 1990’.
    • 1989: The Queen is due for a very difficult year in 1992 (‘annus horibilis’).
    • 1990: The day of the year that Prince Charles should beware of is 11 th Dec.
    • 2000: ‘Don’t fly to (or within) America in September 2001’.
    • 2000: George Bush will come to be known as the worst president in US history. He will scrape through his term of office, but will leave a trail of disaster that will take decades to sort out.
    • 2003: Global warming will happen much faster than even the gloomiest prediction.
    • 2007 (Sept): End of the UK house-price boom will come in Nov/Dec 2007.
    • 2009: Queen in 2010 considering abdicating in 2012.
    • 2009: End 2010 Prince William decides to marry in 2013. First born twins follow.
  4. Stop Press: UK Weather in 2009
    • Paul’s 2008 forecast for 2009, quote: “Further evidence of accelerating Global Warming. Jet stream again causing weather problems to parts of UK”.
    • What happened? On Nov 19 th 2009, Cumbria in Northern England received the largest rainfall in 24 hrs ever recorded in UK (12.3 inches / 30 cm), causing massive flood damage to thousands of houses. Roads were ripped up, bridges destroyed and a policeman and two others were swept to their deaths in Cumbria, Wales and Devon.
    • Daily Telegraph, 20 Nov 2009: “ The flooding in Cumbria is part of a pattern of weather which shows that global warming is occurring faster than anyone expected… predictions of the effects of climate change had suggested it would not reach this stage until the end of the [21 st ] century”
  5. NBC News, 5 Nov 2008: “ Barack Obama, a 47-year-old first-term senator from Illinois, shattered more than 200 yrs of history Tuesday night by winning election as the first African-American president of the United States.” Paul’s 2007 forecast for Nov 2008: “ Although McCain [is] currently higher in polls, Obama is more likely to become US president …[Nov 4th 2008]…[is a] turning point (or revolution) in government circles”
    • Paul’s 2008 global forecast for 2009: “International oil prices, having sunk to a medium-term low in the Spring, rise in another speculative bubble later in the year then sink again to a longer-term low”

    • Paul’s 2008 global forecast for 2009: “Pakistan is increasingly wobbly; international concerns about Taliban at a peak in September”
    • What happened: The Taliban captured territory that took them within 60 miles of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan (a nuclear-armed state!). In October 2009 the Pakistani government launched a military offensive to retake the territory and strike at the Pashtun heartland of Taliban support.

  6. Paul’s 2008 prediction for 2009: “ Beautiful actress hailed as ‘the new Bardot’.”
    • Daily Mail 14 Aug 2009:
    • “ Gorgeous Georgia Jagger, a repeat of Brigitte Bardot”
    • “ She has grown into the spitting image of another stunning blonde – but it’s not her mother Jerry Hall . In this photo-shoot Georgia looks more like the offspring of Brigitte Bardot. ”

  9. Paul’s 2008 UK forecast for 2009: ‘Fantastic bubble of sporting achievement contributes to greater national pride but may be tainted by huge gambling frauds’ Daily Mail, 6 Aug 2009: “Sam Heath, with what is thought to be the world’s largest free-floating soap bubble”
  10. 13. Lloyds Bank Share Price Graph Late Feb 2009: Paul put a message on Marjorie Orr’s website, pointing out indicator trends in Lloyd’s birth chart, asking if she agreed that the share price decline was about to end. A few days later the price bottomed and rose from 33p to 120p in two months 9 month graph 5 year graph
  14. Chart for ‘Flight’ When a solar-eclipse fell exactly on the ‘Flight’ chart’s natal Saturn on 26 th Jan 2009, air travel was in danger. For many months astrologers watched gob-smacked as one aircraft after another fell out of the sky every time a planet passed over that natal Saturn degree. Beginning with non-fatal and minor crashes in late 2008, the pattern soon developed its teeth and caused many deaths during 2009. In Autumn 2009 this chart will be triggered again by a series of New Moons culminating in mid-Dec 2009 & mid-to-late-Apr 2010. This spells danger for one financial VIP and has implications for air-industry finance and public confidence in flying 2010-2012. Children are also more at risk from flying during that period.
  15. The World in 2010
  16. The World in 2010 The Saturn-Uranus opposition (i.e. they are literally on opposite sides of the Earth) is still active in the first half of 2010, which means that a giant struggle between conservative and progressive forces (and many another opposing ideology) is still being played out on the world stage, within communities and, most importantly, within each and every heart. In fact the contest is intensifying…
  17. The World in 2010
    • However, in 2010
    • the balance suddenly shifts
    • towards the progressive! When Jupiter
    • joins Uranus on the cusp of Aries on 8 th June,
    • their combined clout will easily pull the common
    • consciousness towards radical thinking, new ideals and
    • higher standards. 2010 is therefore an exciting, privileged
    • time to be alive; to be able to offer our thoughts, prayers and
    • efforts towards a process of renewal; to be taking part in the
    • beginnings of a whole new adventure in right living. Some will
    • not be able to handle the many challenges involved in seeing
    • this necessary process through , thus the new impulse will
    • quickly be deliberately checked by violent and negative
    • action misguidedly perpetrated by those with opposing
    • strong beliefs in their own rightness and sense of
    • duty to take ‘corrective’ action. But the impulse
    • to move things forward is irrepressible
    • and will soon regain any lost
    • momentum…

  18. Attitudes Around the World in a Metal Tiger Year
    • Greater willingness to embrace more socially-beneficial systems (social, lifestyle, health, governmental and other radical reforms).
    • Taking action and cutting corners will supersede procrastination and avoidance as fashionable methodologies, and it is likely that a whole new belief system or exciting popular movement will originate or reach public awareness during 2010, based on the powerful desire to speed things up and cut the crap.
    • Honesty will begin to supersede deception and trickery as the prevailing paradigm, though it will struggle against the old order for many years to come.
    • In politics , science, technology and many other areas people will say: ‘Let’s see what exciting breakthrough ideas younger heads can come up with!’ People whose views have long been passed over and ignored will also begin to find their voice and their strength.
    • Vibrant new organisations and companies will begin to replace some of the old and failing institutions; people will say: ‘I don’t think this exact thing has ever been tried before!’
    • In fashion , Metal Tiger years favour the military look, so uniforms (especially the more flamboyant ones) will be ‘in’ for both men and women.
    • In essence , this is the year of charismatic personalities, sparkling unorthodoxy, brilliant and outrageous ideas – but also of quick-fixing self-serving leaders who refuse to admit when they are in the wrong.

There’s no doubt that the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on the cusp of Aries on June 8 th 2010 (81 yrs since it last happened) is both zippy and potentially shocking. As it occurs in a Metal Tiger year, this suggests there will be some new, interesting and progressive attitudes emerging ‘from nowhere’ all around the world. We’ll see:

  19. Global Trends for 2010
    • Paul’s Oct 2007 UK forecast for 2008: “ [when] Pluto moves into Capricorn [2008-2024], unstable governments will have difficulty controlling their population”
    • More detail for the 2009-10 period: The social climate moves towards the idea of revolution. Ineptitude and poor judgement by governments and authorities, both past and present, will result in population-control problems (both over- and under-control), and the inadvertent release of powerful social forces. In fact it will become difficult to govern some countries and areas – especially so on and around 15 th Nov 2009 and 31 st Jan, 8 th & 26 th Jun, 30 th July, and 21 st Aug 2010. However, old-style heavy-handed and corrupt governments will not hesitate to use their power and influence to retain control, with initial success. Before 2024 (beginning in 2010) these governments will all be overthrown one-by-one in the face of irrepressible popular movements.
    • International governmental controls over speculation plus the discovery of new reserves
    • will help to keep the oil price average lower than the 2008-09 average.
    • Mid-year brings promise of a forthcoming huge step forward in power and propulsion
    • technology, giving the prospect of a solution to the world’s energy problems.
    • International meetings in May-June bring some unexpected breakthroughs that inspire
    • public confidence, soon followed by big problems and setbacks.
    • June/July is a tense period of diplomatic crises in the face of subversive action, bare-
    • faced military threats, stand-offs and confrontations. Major powers have their work cut
    • out to keep things on an even keel, as these countries too may be cauldrons of internal
    • strife and discontent by then. Every forward-thinking idea is seriously opposed at that
    • time.
    • Paul’s original summary prediction (from 2007) for Britain in 2010:
    • “ 2010: Reality-check year . Vulnerable and disturbingly difficult year. Pluto in Capricorn is joined by Saturn in Libra & Uranus in Aries – start of an eye-watering three years of jolts and bumps for the UK government and financial system. UK should on no account run up further debt or as this would seriously weaken the economy. Significantly different solutions badly needed but not yet forthcoming. Fateful year for UK; time of reckoning for queen and government.”
    • Paul’s original summary prediction (from 2007) for Britain in 2010:
    • “ 2010: Reality-check year . Vulnerable and disturbingly difficult year. UK should on no account run up further debt or as this would seriously weaken the economy. Significantly different solutions badly needed but not yet forthcoming. Fateful year for UK; time of reckoning for queen and government.”
    • Now for some more detail:
    • As the UK government is now committed to borrowing further huge sums in 2010, Britain is heading towards serious problems of many kinds, including the running-down and virtual failure of commitments that can no longer be afforded, during 2010-16.
    • MP’s expenses scandal refuses to go away, but gradually re-focuses on MP’s and councillors travel junkets and consultancies.
    • Grass-roots movements, as previously predicted, continue to build influence over government and Country in finance, recycling, farming, housing and energy.
    • Unfortunately the trends also benefit organisations such as the BNP, thanks to an increasingly negative public view of the immigration system threatening mayhem.
    • The weather continues to break records; insurance premiums continue to rise.
    • Late Jan is a real setback, but this leads to ‘lessons being learned’ by late August.
    • Mid-late April is turning point (invisible till later) in economy and/or financial sector.
    • Late Jul/early Aug: at last UK government admits armed forces are overstretched and ‘at breaking point’, resulting in remedial measures to boost their capabilities. May also affect police through civil unrest or prison break-out.
    • Terrorist threat high early-Jun to mid-Sep, especially Jul 25 th /26 th ; Aug 3 rd and 16 th -21 st , also 11-14 th Dec. Building-site accidents also liable to be more prevalent at these times.
    • Early Sept is nervous, edgy time, but government is ‘confident of outcome’
    • Oct is the most difficult, belt-tightening month for Queen and Country, but also brings some belated recognition of UK’s past efforts and successes around the world.
    • In Nov 2009,although we don’t know it (and won’t for a while yet) the Queen at 83 has been wondering how much longer she can continue to fulfil her duties.
    • She will have another bout of this uncertainty between Christmas 2009 and New Year, brought on by feeling a little unwell.
    • During 2010 this issue continues to haunt her thinking as she struggles to come to terms with her own decision. She will later refer to this as ‘having to take a painful decision’.
    • Changes in her husband’s state of health will be a key factor.
    • The total eclipse on 11 th July seems to highlight for the media & public the ability of the Queen to continue with her duties; at this stage just raising the question
    • The Queen may decide before the end of 2010 (probably in Oct/Nov) when to step aside.

  20. 2010 Parliamentary Elections in UK
    • Having lost its grip in 2009, Labour actually has a better chance of doing well in 2010 elections than currently credited (in Oct 2009), but as the party’s chart suggests a difficult and depressing year 1 , their chances of actually winning are almost zero, as currently expected. 2011 is their ‘fight-back’ year, mainly through in-fighting and purges.

Paul’s 2008 UK forecast for 2009: “No UK election in 2009”

    • Date of election announcement by 30 th
    • March (FM in 9LI).
    • Most likely election date: May 27th .
    • This is also the best date for Labour
    • (because the Conservative chart shows them inwardly divided 2 ).
    • However, Labour are still likely to lose. A
    • defeat at this time would be personally
    • crushing for Mr Brown.
    • If held in April, Labour will have a better
    • showing in the polls (but still lose).
    • If held in May/June, events abroad will
    • help decide the result.
    • If held on 24th Jun, result is in doubt or
    • tainted through suspected fraud.
    • Result: majority too narrow for strong government.

Paul’s 2008 UK forecast for 2009: “No UK election in 2009”

  24. USA trends in 2010
    • After a depressing Xmas, the USA’s year begins with hope for the future, based partly on the prospect of at least some kind of reform in the health and social sectors, of the economy being brought under control, and of diplomatic breakthroughs in foreign relations. The financial markets are especially turbulent at first, with very mixed news.
    • There are many positive trends in The USA chart for 2010 which help the national mood to be resilient, upbeat and confident, especially in the first half of the year , although there are a couple of weeks of anxious trends in the second half of May.
    • However, the US is due for an expensive Summer, largely caused by an actual danger period from late June until the end of July. At this time it is possible the USA’s (most likely home-grown) enemies may strike again, this time aiming particularly at government and president. The trickiest date is 30 th July when Moon, Mars, Saturn and Uranus are all aligned on the USA chart’s Midheaven. This tense alignment may instead indicate a major storm or other natural disaster – or the one could follow soon after the other. Mr Obama’s chart shows very bad news at that time. But as contradictory opposites are involved, there is also a chance that this could be a positive moment of success for government and people in some sense. However, events at this time do leave a nervous vulnerability and confusion in their wake, which should begin to ease in September as a more relaxed and confident mood takes over again, helped by diplomatic success abroad.
    • Autumn brings social or health reform but nonetheless this is quite a difficult period as uncooperative elements within government try their best to put a spoke in the wheel, succeeding in blocking and delaying important legislation into 2011. A very mixed year of positives and negatives for USA.
    • One thing that may be largely but unwisely ignored by a government with enough already to think about, is an increase in geophysical warnings from Yellowstone from Feb onwards, particularly July.
  25. Afghanistan in 2010
    • Afghanistan is a feisty, tenacious, stubbornly independent country with its own ways of doing things and a knack of coming out on top when foreign powers invade. If CIA advisors didn’t tell Mr Bush that before he invaded, they were tragically remiss. I suspect they did…and were ignored.
    • Having got themselves into an ‘un-win-able’ conflict, what’s the way forward?
    • The best way forward is to strike a deal to withdraw all combat troops with a sincere apology to Afghanistan; then supply infrastructure & ordnance-clearance-support for whatever government finds its way to the top (Taliban or otherwise).
    • What’s more likely is that there will be a military push in January onwards, followed in the second half of the year by the kind of rebuilding and support program that would have saved all the suffering if it had happened in the first place!
    • Buying the poppy and other powerful oil crops legally for medicine is the key to allied success – not warfare.

Crunch time for the conflict is the Solar Eclipse on 15th Jan 2010, which falls in a destiny-shaping place in Afghanistan’s chart.

  26. Some other Countries of the World in 2010 (see more on site)
    • Australia’s problems with drought, flood and fire are set to continue, with the emphasis on storms and wind-driven fires. A movement by aboriginals to regain some of the controls and territories they lost to invading Europeans will gain momentum in 2010-11, accompanied by major government apologies for past iniquities.
    • France appears to have some surprises up its sleeve, raising its international status. However, they are also due some bitter internal conflicts, partly caused by decision to play larger role in policing and resolving certain foreign conflicts.
    • Germany will also move towards taking a more active part in foreign conflicts.
    • Indonesia has a bunch of problems in 2010, from weather and geophysical problems to rebellion by indigenous people and vengeful retaliation; leadership challenges; financial crises and a threatened break-up of the internal structure of the country. An anxious year – the most difficult in its 60 year history.
    • Iran – a less painful year for Iran than 2008-9. Iran easily feels put-upon and knows that if it does not defend itself vigorously it will be trampled and taken advantage of by other nations. A better international understanding of these sensitivities in 2010 paves the way to an easing of tensions. Internal problems centre around the economy, with public anger over government expenditure, shocking waste and lack of oversight.
    • Italy – despite resounding international sporting success, the government is undermined (partly by Mafia exposures & child-protection failures). A whole new national attitude is surfacing, including towards religion (coincidentally, the Vatican has vulnerable trends). Startling archaeological discoveries threaten the orthodox view of Italy’s ancient past. A period of earthquakes and volcanic activity is due, with warnings of a significant eruption that should not be ignored.
    • Poland is due some unexpected sporting successes (probably water sports) but also watery problems including significant floods.
    • Spain will gain in stature over the next two years, especially in the finance industry, but is also facing scandals over child protection and not keeping its wayward youth under effective control.
  27. Your Stars – 2010
    • Aries: Do you enjoy your work, Aries? If not, you must do something about it this year. Aries are normally quick to put the past behind them, but in the New Year you’re still very bothered about a past relationship or friendship; unresolved issues continue to hold you back like a deadweight. Aries with children will find them harder work than usual, but anger will achieve nothing; there’s no substitute for patience. By Midsummer you’re resolved on a fresh start, on ‘breaking the ties that bind’, and looking forward to new friendship and adventure! What a breakthrough! By the end of the year you’re really beginning to get somewhere – at last! All your friends will wish they were Aries too…mmm…I think I’ll have whatever you’re having.
    • Taurus: There’s only so much a body can do – and you’re sensible enough to recognise that your natural limitations have to be taken fully into account when you’re considering your hopes and dreams for the future. Mid-year discord over work or health issues doesn’t sound like peace-loving Taurus, but is perhaps part of a series of communication, transport or privacy problems. With love-planet Venus lingering in your solar relationship house in the last four months of 2010, that’s your chance to sort things out and come to a better understanding; it also marks an important time in all your close relationships.
    • Gemini: Although you’ve been unsure about what you should do with the next part of your life (some of your ideas have been a bit stratospheric), all that thinking, studying or travel is about to pay off. Your imagination will get more grounded and your thinking more practical as you realise that some of the fun things will simply have to be postponed in 2010 so that you can focus more on material and financial security. The second half of the year brings dramatic social trends that will be hard to resist and could breathe new life into the friendship or romance aspect of your life – but before you act you have to ask yourself: ‘at what cost?’
  28. Your Stars – 2010
    • Cancer: This is one of the four zodiac-signs most affected by important developments during 2010; so this is a destiny year! Family, domestic and relationship trends are the most powerful for you this year. Most particularly you need to get family on your side if you want to take advantage of the opportunities to move forward in your career or other ambition. This could mean a bit of ‘horse trading’ with those close to you, to avoid or resolve a conflict of interest. It’s up to you to ensure that the potential of 2010 to change your life in oh-so-many-ways, is for the better. Get any money issues ironed-out first; the rest will follow. Lots to look forward to!
    • Leo: Make the most of 2010 Leo! It’s time to put your best foot forward, get seriously inspired and follow your vision – especially in the Spring. But try to restrain your impatience when dealing with loved ones; they may put up with it but at what price? There’s serious reading or studying to do as you slowly catch up on some basic things and try to master some difficult techniques; this will find more success in the second half of the year, as will out-of-the-blue travel plans. Be firm with yourself and actually track down the nature and cause of any grumbling health or dietary problems, not just assume what they are (especially in Jul/Aug).
    • Virgo: 2010 is partly about finding new and inventive ways to cope with all the demands on your purse. Virgos with children may find the financial pressures from them almost unbearable; even those without children may be struggling with the cost of life’s pleasures or past excesses. Is there some way in which you’ve been working against your own interests? Your energy and motivation are better in the second half of the year; until then, work behind the scenes to improve things. One warning: tax and insurance investigators have a way of catching up with folks who try to deceive them – and as you don’t want any nasty surprises you must keep your nose clean and your paperwork above-board.
  29. Your Stars – 2010
    • Libra: Quite a significant year for Libra; you’ll have some new members for your fan club! However, your responsibilities are weighing heavily on your shoulders – including those that were self-chosen. At first there is enough support but as the year goes on, the pressure intensifies, particularly from family. You’ll start comparing what you have to do with what you want to do. It’ll only take someone to let you down or openly dislike you and it’ll burst a boil of suppressed emotion – which might be a good thing. The best advice is: learn your limits if you don’t know them – and stay within them. Even two big birds in the bush don’t usually equal, in value, one modest bird in the hand.
    • Scorpio: A meaningful year with some tough decisions to be made. In the first half of the year it’s about career or pushing to achieve something you really want to do; this won’t go smoothly but you’ll get there! In the second half, changes in your work environment may amount to a breakthrough, or at least a big improvement; this comes at a price however – you should make sure it’s one you’re prepared to pay. Making up your mind at each stage in the process is the most difficult bit. Certainly there’s plenty of appreciation coming your way as voluptuous Venus, planet of love and attraction, spends Sept-Dec in your sign! Lucky you!
    • Sagittarius: Yours is the only sign not to benefit from the charming rays of Venus in 2010! Never mind, you’ve plenty-else going for you, particularly in new developments on the home & family front and creative enterprise. This may indicate home-improvements, an advantageous home-move or an easing of domestic circumstances. Formerly-childless Sagittarians can look forward to a happy event with great excitement; parents to an interesting stage in their child’s development. Be ultra-cautious around other people’s children however. Also be very wary of allowing anyone (even a close friend) to get their hands on your money, as it could take a long time to get it back, if ever.
  30. Your Stars – 2010
    • Capricorn: A year of quite tremendous pressures for you, Capricorn! It should start well, so make the most of it till mid-Feb, whilst your face is your fortune. Even Capricorns in a pickle can negotiate their way out of it during this phase. Don’t make life unnecessarily complicated for yourself by taking on too many different things; your clear aim should be to keep to simple rules and deal with issues as they arise or at least a.s.a.p. If you want to move home you can do so with advantage – in fact you may get an offer out of the blue! Alternatively you could benefit greatly from someone else’s hard work or goodwill.
    • Aquarius: An amazing year ahead Aquarius! Though it’s hard to say whether this is from travel plans suddenly boosted or accelerated, exciting new studies undertaken to obtain a higher qualification, or some kind of major change of plan to open up the possibilities. It’s all about choice, but for sure there are going to be some bright ideas on which you just can’t follow through, because of practicalities. Therefore this isn’t about career ambition or attaining a major longed-for objective; you’ll have to wait a couple of years for that one. It’s more to do with following your dreams and listening to your higher self. Somehow you have to do this without losing your grip on reality.
    • Pisces: Your time is coming Pisces and you can almost feel yourself ready to surge ahead when the moment arrives! The pattern of your long-term future is changing, as previously forecast. Some of that transition process is proving tough and difficult (for example the troubles caused by some who call themselves your friends); some of it very easy and so natural that you flow with it like you were born to it. In the first half of the year travel plans have to be offset against the work and health situation, but exciting financial trends offer the prospect of a new way of making money – and more ways to spend it too!
  31. Britain – longer term (published five years in advance)
    • 2011: Challenging year. The complete immigrant takeover in some areas concentrates minds. Country landscape and lifestyle being destroyed at an unprecedented rate. Intensification of period of intermittently strange, peculiar weather conditions. In some ways a very good year, for example with signs of a more enlightened, holistic attitude to the housing and agricultural crisis and exciting new trends in the workplace, NHS and armed forces. In some other ways, not. Some say Fri Oct 28 th is end of Maya Calendar.
    • 2012: Crucial turning point year . Huge pressures, potentially enough to break the nation apart. Intense and very difficult – major lessons to be learned; grass-roots movements ensure the peoples’ voice will be heard. An important ally (most likely USA) also going through radical change. Enemies and friends alike going though their own upheavals. Housing market and agriculture in chaos, but real transformation of systems going on. Extent and ingenuity of home-grown terrorism quite shocking, but technical know-how helps Britain to get through. Many youngsters are showing unusual capabilities and tendencies. Turmoil & chaos surround Olympics; athletes vulnerable. Before October the world will begin to relate to Britain in a whole different way. Some say Dec 21 st at 11:11pm GMT is end of Maya Calendar; either way people will say ‘ this is the end of an era’ .
    • 2013: Social revolution year for Britain, with some radical, dicey moments and painful uprooting of tradition. Domestic issues still to the fore but potentially a better year (could be exciting, depending on how it’s handled). Dealings with other countries should be circumspect – confrontation must be avoided. This year turns out very differently for Britain than imagined or planned. Two clever, knowledgeable and important people help to turn things around in the economy, housing, and/or farming. At a particularly difficult moment, suddenly things look a whole lot better.
    • 2014: Rebuilding year . Britain, or what’s left of it after all the topsy-turvy weather, geophysical, economic and social problems, is sailing close to the wind. The UK’s alliances are under serious review and there’s a lot to pay for and replace. Nonetheless, this is a year of recovery, and the changes that have been made are already starting to pay off. People will say this feels like the first relatively normal year for quite a while.
